DAY 4 of '40 DAYS OF FACING FEAR'

The below is from the original Facebook post on March 4th 2017:

Today's challenge was initially nerve-wracking and then totally exhilarating (it was also a lovely father-daughter bonding afternoon activity while visiting Auckland for the weekend). I shot a firearm/rifle for the first time!!!

It's taken me 26 years to shoot a firearm. To say that Dad (who is a mad keen hunter and fisherman) was proud is an understatement.

Guns have intimidated me in the past as I had never personally used one (fear of the unknown). Coming from a family where my dad and brother are mad-keen hunters and fisherman, it made me feel like I couldn't relate to them quite as well because of their activities. I can't tell you how excited my Dad was when I suggested this idea to him. #prouddad

While I won't go so far as to shoot animals due to beliefs, I will say that shooting guns for sport/fun at targets is now no longer outside my comfort zone 😊

Note added 28th March 2017:

The above photo shows the nice combination of different 'sides' to me - the country-raised girl and the city-woman (i.e. note the manicure while shooting the rifle! haha)
